Delighted to provide music for Margaret and Nathan’s beautiful wedding ceremony in Church of the Immaculate Conception and St Joseph, Crossgar. Before Margaret started to plan their music, she was keen to have some help and advice, as there’s so many factors to consider with a religious ceremony. But after spending some time listening to my playlists and suggestions, she was able to choose an inspiring mix of traditional and modern music, creating a soft and elegant backdrop to celebrate the start of their new life together.
Margaret and her bridal party walked down the aisle to her favourite song from The Greatest Showman, and she timed it to perfection, reaching the top of the aisle just as the chorus was coming to an end, with the final outro giving her a few more seconds to enjoy this moment before the ceremony started! Then to accompany the sacred elements of the ceremony, Margaret chose a selection of spiritual pieces for moments of reflection such as the candle lighting, communion, offertory procession etc. For the Newlyweds’ Exit, Margaret asked if I could suggest a suitable piece which would tie in with the theme of walking into their new life together, and she was delighted when I recommended a modern classical piece by Kevin Kern called Where Paths Meet – which she loved as soon as she heard it!
This wedding is a perfect example of how music can help to elevate moments without being intrusive or distracting – something which is vitally important for religious weddings. This couple’s selection of soft, ambient music really complemented their style of ceremony whilst still creating a very memorable and unique backdrop for their celebrations – and finding this balance is what makes the perfect wedding soundtrack for a spiritual wedding!
