Being asked to provide music for Careen and Alan’s summer wedding at Stormont Hotel was extra special as I had been part of Careen’s daughter’s wedding too! Careen was a huge music-lover just like her daughter so I knew music would play a very special role in their day!

Careen’s choice for her entrance was a song she absolutely loved and the lyrics just fitted this moment perfectly – I’ve Been Waiting For You by ABBA. We tailored the timings of the song so Careen could walk down the aisle during the chorus, where the music builds up nicely to really highlight this moment!

For the Signing, Careen requested a beautiful ballad from Notting Hill as this was a romcom they both enjoyed watching, and it was a fabulous choice for this part of the ceremony – When You Say Nothing At All. Then for their joyful exit, Careen chose a song by The Eagles which already had a special place in their hearts – Take It To The Limit – and I absolutely loved creating my own arrangement for their wedding!

My playlist for the rest of their day featured lots more of their favourites, including Elvis, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Queen and more ABBA, plus a special rendition of a Black Sabbath song from her daughter’s wedding!
