Congratulations to Caroline and Geoff who are celebrating their wedding in style at The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn! I had the pleasure of providing music for their ceremony this afternoon and their songs included something old and something new! For her Entrance, Caroline chose Wagner’s Bridal March but she opted for a very unique arrangement by Vicente Avella, a contemporary pianist and composer who has transformed this traditional tune into a modern masterpiece! This delicate, romantic piano version captured the moment beautifully and it was the perfect start to the day! For the Signing, they chose two pieces which are featured regularly in my playlist for weddings as they are two of the most requested songs when it comes to ceremony music – A Thousand Years and Pachelbel’s Canon. These have become firm favourites not only with couples but also with guests and they are excellent choices for any part of the ceremony! For their Exit as husband and wife, Caroline and Geoff chose a song which was released 40 years ago but it’s distinctive melody and touching lyrics have proven that this timeless classic has staying power! Released in 1977, this beautiful ballad written by Eric Clapton was the perfect end to their ceremony and it added a very memorable backdrop to this special moment as they walked back down the aisle hand in hand! I just know this lovely couple will look ‘Wonderful Tonight’ as they dance the night away in the elegant Verina Suite! Here’s to love, laughter and happily ever after!
Bridal March – Richard Wagner arr. Vicente Avella
A Thousand Years – Christina Perri
Canon In D – Pachelbel
Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton
