Absolutely loved providing music for Suzanne and Sam’s beautiful wedding ceremony this afternoon in the Church Of The Resurrection in Belfast! It was a particularly special occasion in terms of the music as Suzanne just happens to be a fabulous pianist and drummer, and her family are also very talented musicians! So needless to say, I was very excited (and honoured) when Suzanne asked me to be part of their celebrations! This wedding was all about the personal touches, with autumnal-themed decor and music-inspired elements adding lots of beauty and warmth to their day! Suzanne and Sam compiled a very romantic playlist featuring some of their favourite songs and I loved the fusion of classical and contemporary music! For her walk down the aisle, Suzanne requested the ‘Flower Duet’ from the opera Lakmé and it’s captivating melody was the perfect backdrop for this special moment! I also had the pleasure of listening to Suzanne’s sister and dad perform ‘Songbird’ during the ceremony and it was beyond beautiful! As the happy couple signed the register, I played three songs from very different eras and genres – a famous duet by Sonny and Cher, a modern arrangement of the ‘Bridal March’ and a rock ballad by The Calling. Such an eclectic and inspiring mix of music! Then for their walk back down the aisle as newlyweds, they chose a song which became a number one hit for Ed Sheeran back in 2014 – ‘Thinking Out Loud’. Such a great song to start married life and the lyrics couldn’t be more fitting! Loved every minute of this couple’s ceremony and really enjoyed sharing this special day with them. Wishing them all the happiness in the world as they set off into the sunset together! May their future be filled with lots more beautiful moments and romantic music!
