This year’s music trends

Every year, there’s new trends throughout the wedding industry and music is one of the most exciting trends for me!

I see how Hollywood movies and famous TV shows can influence these choices and even how Spotify playlists have inspired couples to think outside the box, but when it comes down to choosing ceremony songs, there’s a few trends which make it even easier to be unique and create a soundtrack which can’t be copied!

Enter the modern medley or mashup! Why choose one song for your entrance when you can choose 2 or even 3, blended perfectly together to make this moment even more dramatic and memorable! Not sure what I mean? Just take a look at my Aisle Style playlist for a few ideas!

Classical crossovers – if secular music isn’t an option for your ceremony, there are many modern alternatives to the traditional tunes! Classical crossovers are a great way to include some well known pieces but in a completely different way, whether it’s a fusion of contemporary compositions or a restyled version of an original! Check out my Classical Beauty playlist for some ideas!

Songs with a family connection – you’ve seen the trend where couples place their parents’ wedding photos beside their cake? Or where a bride restyles an heirloom wedding dress? But did you know couples are now borrowing songs from their parents’ wedding and including them somewhere in their ceremony? And I’m loving this trend! Of course, I can always add a special touch to make them unique to you, but what a great idea for your ‘something borrowed’!

Surprise songs – it might not be a new trend, but it’s still a big hit! Whether you’re planning to surprise your other half with a special song when you walk up the aisle or you’re wanting to add a little excitement during the build up before the ceremony, I can help you out! It never fails to bring out all the right emotions and it creates some wonderful memories for everyone in the room, not just the couple!

If you’d like to chat through your ideas or you’d like a few tips on where to start when it comes to planning your music, please just get in touch and I’ll be more than happy to help you create a wedding soundtrack which is unique and memorable!
