It’s crazy to think that before TikTok even launched in the UK or USA, my wedding mashups were already making their debut appearance at weddings in Northern Ireland! So when my couples ask me if I’ve seen *that* TikTok trend, I don’t just do a happy dance (coz mashups are my ninja skill!)… I take you on a quick tour of my virtual vinyl vault to show you some of my fave mashups from my back catalogue!
And if you’re wondering ‘why would I choose a wedding mashup?’, there’s lots of great reasons – you have more than one fave song for your entrance, you’d like to add more drama and excitement to your day, you love the idea of a decoy aisle song, you want to surprise your partner, and many more! Trust me, wedding mashups are always a good idea!
Here’s 4 things you should know about my mashups:
– While most TikTok wedding mashups feature 2 songs (the first almost always being Pachelbel’s Canon In D), my mashups can feature 2, 3, or even 4 songs and you can swap Pachelbel for another song if this isn’t your style!
– TikTok mashups rarely include a dynamic transition but my mashups always do! I spend hours crafting unique chord progressions to give you a seamless link between your songs, rather than using the simple ascending scale trend which doesn’t bring any drama or suspense!
– While most TikTok mashups are copies, my mashups are original – this means I create bespoke piano arrangements and transcribe sheet music specially for each mashup. I spend hundreds of hours in my studio every year customising wedding music so I can ensure your mashups are truly unique!
– In addition to creating wedding mashups for processionals, I also create DJ style piano mixes which are a completely different format and structure, featuring multiple short sections of songs blended together with no extra transitions, to achieve that distinctive DJ sound.
The good news…
Custom wedding mashups are included as part of my Bespoke Collection so there are no extra fees involved for this service. Most mashups are requested for a ceremony entrance / processional, but some couples also choose a mashup for their joyful exit as newlyweds! However, my DJ style piano mixes (feat. 4+ songs) are not included in my bespoke package as these are an additional service, but if you love this idea, please feel free to chat with me about this option and I’ll be happy to discuss pricing with you.
