Wedding bells were ringing for today’s happy couple Megan and Andrew to announce their marriage at St Luke’s Parish Church, Ballymoyer. Loved the abundance of pretty pink flowers and rustic décor both inside and outside the church by the very talented Maureen from Imagine Flowers! The wellie boots filled with stock, hydrangea and roses really looked the part at this quaint country church! When I first met with Megan and Andrew earlier this year, they already had lots of ideas in mind for their ceremony music and I was very excited to receive some new requests aswell! Megan really liked Ed Sheeran’s ‘Tenerife Sea’ but wasn’t sure how it would sound on piano as it was originally written for guitar, so I prepared a recording in advance so she could hear my arrangement and it ticked the right box! It was the perfect piece for her Entrance and it created a beautiful romantic backdrop for her walk down the aisle! I also had the pleasure of providing piano accompaniment for Megan’s friend, Felicity Fraser, who performed two songs during the Signing – ‘I Have Dreamed’ (from ‘The King and I’) and ‘Voi Che Sapete’ (from ‘The Marriage Of Figaro’). Very challenging pieces but Felicity’s amazing operatic voice definitely did justice to both of them and really wowed the guests! For their joyful exit, Megan and Andrew requested ‘Piano Man’ by Billy Joel as they had also chosen this for their first dance together that evening! Hard to believe this famous track was released 44 years ago and yet its iconic melody is still a favourite with music-lovers today! A fantastic song to introduce the newlyweds as they walked back down the aisle to greet their guests and start their celebrations! A very eclectic mix of music today and a truly unique selection of songs for this couple! Wishing them lots of love and happiness as they set off on their new journey together!
