Delighted to be playing at Hannah and Neill’s wedding dinner this evening at the stunning Slieve Donard Resort and Spa in Newcastle! With its panoramic views over the Mourne Mountains and the County Down coastline, the Chandelier Room was the perfect venue for their celebrations! While everyone enjoyed their meal, I played a selection of classic love songs and modern romantic ballads, ranging from Abba and Elvis to Adele and Ellie Goulding! Of course, one tune was top of my playlist today and even though it was written 120 years ago, it remains one of the most popular Irish songs of all time! Composed by Percy French in 1896, the ‘Mountains of Mourne’ is a timeless classic which I love playing, especially when I’m visiting this beautiful part of Ireland! Hope you enjoy listening!
