Today may be the last day of June but it’s the start of happily ever after for Natalie and Gary who are celebrating their wedding with friends and family at Clandeboye Lodge Hotel in Bangor. I had the pleasure of playing during the ceremony and I loved all their music choices! Natalie walked down the aisle to one of the most beautiful songs of all time – Songbird. Written in 1977 by British singer/songwriter Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac) and covered most famously by Eva Cassidy some twenty years later, unbelievably this song has never topped the charts but it was most certainly a hit today! Two modern songs provided a romantic backdrop while everyone watched the happy couple sign the marriage schedule! Yellow (Coldplay) and A Thousand Years (Christina Perri) worked perfectly together for this part! Then for their Exit, Natalie and Gary wanted something celebratory and upbeat to greet their guests, so they chose a fantastic rock song by Queen with happy, heartfelt lyrics – You’re My Best Friend! Their guests quickly recognised it and some even started singing along! A wonderful theme song to start married life!
