What a fantastic day for Andrew and Suzanne’s amazing autumn wedding at Kilmore Country House in Glenariffe! With its stunning views across the Glens, this venue definitely has the wow factor and it was the perfect setting to watch an Irish lass and a Scottish gent tie the knot! There were kilts aplenty and even some trendy tartan trousers for those who didn’t dare to bare! Adding an authentic Scottish flavour, their guests were welcomed on arrival with the majestic sound of the bagpipes courtesy of Harris piping! A real pleasure to meet Grahame and hear him perform! The Scottish theme continued as I played a favourite of the groom’s ‘Highland Cathedral’ for the bride’s entrance and it stirred all the right emotions! The highlight of the ceremony was a surprise appearance by the bridesmaid’s black labrador, who walked up the aisle to deliver the rings! A fantastic fusion of Irish and Scottish music today plus some more modern requests aswell! So many great moments including some of the best speeches and poems I’ve ever heard at weddings! Also enjoyed meeting another lovely couple Catherine and Richard whose wedding I’ll be playing at next summer and they’re already super-excited about their big day! A huge thanks to Colleen the Wedding Coordinator for making me feel so welcome and giving me all the right signals at all the right times! Such a pleasure to be part of this couple’s celebrations today and I wish them a lifetime of love and laughter together!
