Congratulations to Leanne and Aaron who tied the knot today at The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn. Really enjoyed providing music for their wedding ceremony today and I absolutely loved their movie-themed playlist! Their soundtrack featured a whopping 10 songs from the silver screen! As you know, my wedding music is always top secret until the big day, so I was amazed when Leanne requested a song which another bride (who was getting married just two days before her!) had also requested! It’s true what they say – great minds think alike! Leanne’s favourite film was Pretty Woman and she had always loved the instrumental ‘He Sleeps’ by James Newton Howard so she decided to feature this as her entrance song! But she also requested another beautiful song for her bridal party walking down the aisle – ‘Feels Like Home’ from The Notebook! Together it was the perfect romantic combo! Leanne also requested something a little different for her ceremony when she asked me to perform a special medley immediately after they had exchanged vows just so everyone could relax for a few minutes and enjoy the music! But instead of sending me her choices, she gave me carte blanche so I could surprise her with my own arrangement of songs! The brief was very simple – they wanted a wedding with a fun, festive feel, Leanne was a big fan of movies and all things Disney, and the medley should last around 5 minutes! So I set about creating a bespoke medley for their wedding which not only featured some iconic movie themes and Disney classics but also a little Christmas magic! I chose five different pieces, each for a special reason, and blended them together to create what I have now called my Five Minute Movie Medley! Afterwards, as they signed the register, I played two more great movie tracks – ‘The Time Of My Life’ from Dirty Dancing and ‘Iris’ from City Of Angels. Then for their grand finale, Leanne requested a fantastic feel-good song from Toy Story – ‘You’ve Got A Friend In Me’! This ceremony definitely ended on a high note as this happy couple stepped onto the red carpet for the first time as Mr & Mrs Platt! Such a fab day with this gorgeous pair! Wishing them health and happiness for all their adventures together and hoping their future is every bit as fun-filled and action-packed as today!
