I’m sure Harry and Meghan are still on cloud nine following their celebrations on Saturday but for everyone else who’s getting married later this year, perhaps their big day has helped to inspire you! It was an incredibly modern wedding by royal standards and as I predicted, their music was a mix of something old and something new, with a fantastic selection of songs featured throughout their ceremony! Whilst the pieces for the Processional and the Signing were stunningly beautiful, my favourite part of the day had to be the Kingdom Choir’s rendition of the famous Ben E. King song ‘Stand By Me’. I just love a soul classic and this gospel version was absolutely breathtaking! If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s definitely worth a listen! Something tells me it will become a popular request for this year’s weddings, so while I was tinkling the ivories in my studio this afternoon, I decided to record my own piano cover, based on the version from the royal wedding! Normally my go-to piano is a Steinway Concert Grand courtesy of Nord, but today I’ve chosen the gorgeous ‘Royal Grand’ as it produces a very natural, elegant sound plus it happens to fit in perfectly with the regal theme! So if you’ve a few minutes to spare, why not soothe your soul with some romantic piano music while you’re soaking up the sunshine! Enjoy listening everyone!
