Today I’m celebrating World Poetry Day! As a big fan of poetry myself, I just love hearing the beautiful readings my brides and grooms choose for their special day! The options are endless when it comes to wedding poems, but I’m always very impressed when couples take their creativity to a whole new level and choose a style or theme which also ties in perfectly with their music! So whether you’re searching for something soulful and romantic, fun and quirky, or maybe just a simple sentiment, perhaps this list will help to inspire you! It features ten of my favourite readings from recent weddings, including one you won’t find anywhere else as it has never been published! Absolutely delighted that I have been given permission to share this beautiful and unique Scottish poem with you, written by a very talented gentleman Ross Livingstone, who kindly offered this to one of his son’s friends, after she was asked to perform a reading at a wedding last September. With a little help, I managed to track down the author and I now have the pleasure of sharing it for the very first time online and on social media! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did and if you do wish to feature it at your wedding, please remember to acknowledge this amazing poet!
All the poems are available to download and print completely free of charge (scroll down to see images)
