The therapeutic benefits of music have been recognised by the Alzheimer’s Society and by medical professionals throughout the world. More recently, there have been numerous articles published in the media citing the advantages of music as a form of therapy for many different conditions.
Music is a universal language which encourages people of all ages to engage in a group activity which is both enjoyable and stimulating. Music is widely acknowledged to have significant positive effects on mental and physical wellbeing – it aids reminiscence, promotes social interaction and enhances quality of life.
I offer tailored music sessions for groups with dementia, acquired brain injuries, special needs and learning disabilities. I supply all my own equipment, including a stage piano and large print songbooks for group participants. I also offer themed music for special occasions and a range of music quizzes developed for specific user groups.
